Care and Use of GECKO 3 Ski Skins
We are happy to see that you have decided to invest in this high-quality product made by MP Sports GmbH. We hope that you will be able to enjoy many exciting ski tours with our GECKO 3 adhesive skin.
Please regard all safety warnings posted at your ski area informing you of the avalanche hazards for the specific ski area as well as all other safety rules posted.
Always make sure you carry an avalanche locator device strapped to your body and carry appropriate rescue gear with you in case of an emergency.

Instructions for GECKO 3 Climbing Skins
A. Fitting of the MP Sports “Gecko” ski skin to your skis
- Unfold the ski skin and remove protective shield, shield can be discarded.
- Attach the hook to the back end of the ski.
- Place ski skin on ski and press on avoiding bubbles and wrinkles.
- Thread front end of skin through rubber latch and fold approx. 4 inches back to create a loop. Press both layers at loop together.
- In case the overlap measures less than 4 inches we recommend the use of the “MP Sport Fastening Clip” which can purchased in specialty stores.
- Rubber latch should be only slightly stretched when fastened to ski.
  
B. Attaching of the skin prior to up-hill climb
- Thoroughly dry ski underside.
- Unfold skin
- Attach the hook to the back end of the ski.
- Place ski skin on ski and press on avoiding bubbles and wrinkles.
- Fasten rubber latch to front tip of ski.
- In case adhesion of skin is not strong enough, clean ski skin’s adhesive side with clear water and let skin dry thoroughly before reapplying to ski.
C. During the up-hill climb
In case snow-crystals have built up on the adhesive side of the ski skin, gently rub skin against edge of ski to remove crystals.
D. After the up-hill climb
Simply remove skin from ski and fold/roll-up skin to store.
E.Storage/ Care/ Tip
- Dry skins at room temperature and store in storage bag.
- Any mohair fibers that might shred off can be burned off gently to re-seal the edges.
- Ski skins do not contain toxic materials and can be discarded as regular household trash at the end of their life cycle.
- Loss of small amounts of adhesive off the skin have no impact on the performance of the skin.
